Students who have achieved Part 1, are aged between 21 to 25 and have a connection with Wales have been invited to apply for the funding as part of this year’s Worshipful Welsh Livery Company of Wales Silver Jubilee Development award, the company announced this month (16 October).
The company asks applicants to show how they would create a ‘innovative, self-contained and well-defined’ project to further their studies or careers.
The project, which must be located in Wales, can be stand-alone or part of a course of postgraduate/ professional study, the livery company says.

Students’ connection to Wales should be either through birth, residential, academic or through employment. Students aged between 25 and 30 are also eligible ‘if the candidate is or has been a postgraduate student’.
The livery company said it had chosen architecture and the built environment as the topic for one of this year’s major awards (which change topic annually) because of the role of buildings in preserving the present and future.
‘Sustainable architecture within the built environment will play an important role in the wellbeing of both the present and future generations in Wales,’ a spokesperson told the AJ. ‘Which is why the Worshipful Livery Company of Wales has chosen this as the topic for one of our major awards this year.'
The livery company, which was founded in 1933 to progress education and young peoples’ development in Wales, said the winner would receive a Prestigious Award Certificate and an invitation to a ‘significant Livery Company event’.
Further details on how to apply before the 30 November deadline can be found at liverycompanywales.cymru/here.
