Hall McKnight, BDP and WilkinsonEyre are among the names in contention for the best higher education retrofit, while recently covered projects in the AJ – the Tollhouse and KOKO – are shortlisted in the Hotel, Retail and Leisure section.

The housing finalists include shedkm’s Crusader project, a transformation of a listed Manchester cotton mill complex into flats and and Mikhail Riches’ Park Hill phase 2 - a follow-on from the first stage of the Sheffield council estate revamp which was nominated for a Stirling Prize in 2013.
