In the 12-strong Workplace up to £5 million category, the range of retrofits includes schemes by 5th Studio, Emil Eve Architects and HÛT. They also feature two new homes for architecture studios: Regent Studios Workspace; and 30a Great Sutton Street.
Henley Halebrown is shortlisted for a second year running in the Workplace £5-10 million category after winning in the same category last year for The Lazlo warehouse revamp in north London. This year’s contender is 98-100 De Beauvoir Road, another light-touch warehouse retrofit.
In the over £10 million category, The Rowe, recently completed by AHMM – a vertical extension of the former ‘Cass’ building in Aldgate East – and Entopia, Architype and Feilden + Mawson’s retrofit of a 1930s telephone exchange for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, both make the list.
