AJ Retrofit Awards 2022 shortlist: Houses and Housing

The AJ can reveal the final set of shortlists for the AJ Retrofit Awards 2022 in the House and Housing categories

The restoration of Peter Womersley’s 1957 Modernist house, High Sunderland, by Glasgow-based practice Loader Monteith, featured in the AJ earlier this year, appears on the House up to £500k shortlist.

Other projects include a live-work-research space with greenhouse and a factory conversion in south London.

Names that feature on the House £500k and over shortlist are Jamie Fobert Architects, Chris Dyson, and AHMM with RUFFARCHITECTS.

McGregor White and AHR’s relocation and reconfiguration of the modular social housing block Chris Payne House accompanies the restoration of Canongate Block in Edinburgh by John Gilbert Architects, originally designed by Sir Basil Spence, Glover and Ferguson in 1969, – both in the Housing category.

The winners will be announced on the evening of 24 February 2022 at a gala ceremony at The Brewery, London. Register here for the event and to book your table.
